Day 5: Now we're Sevillians!

Today, we packed our bags, and we were off to Seville. We first walked to the train station and got past security pretty quickly. After that, we boarded the train. There was a big foldable table and a nice soft seat. We finished some work, ate a croissant, and played Candy Crush. Once we got off our train, we went to our very nice 4-floor apartment in downtown Seville. The first floor had an empty pool and a bedroom with a bathroom attached. The second floor had a full kitchen, a dining area, and a comfy living room. The third floor had three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The last floor had a washing machine and led to the terrace, which had beautiful views. After the apartment manager left us, we went for lunch and had pizzas and tapas. Afterward, we chilled out for a while and settled into our apartment (when we arrived, the cleaners were still cleaning the apartment). A Year and a Half Later...

 Hello everyone! It’s been a long time since we’ve been on vacation, and with the Coronavirus Pandemic slowing down in the United States, we’re up and ready again to travel!

But first, let’s look at how much the world has changed. Millions have passed away from this world, and more than a billion people have been put under lockdown. And in the case of India, still in lockdown. We’re still recovering, but all we can do is move forward.

We’re going on vacation in less than a week, and we’ll be updating this blog very soon! Two of us are fully vaccinated, and I (in the range of 12 – 15 years old) finally got my first dose! We’re still going to take extensive precautions by double-masking and social distancing wherever we can. We’re also taking the mandatory COVID-19 test before going on our flight. The more precautions we take, like masking and get our vaccines, the closer we are to a mask-free, happier world!

November 16 was three days before thanksgiving break, but we're off anyway. We wanted to get our full two weeks of vacation in, given we didn't travel anywhere  this summer. So, we packed our bags and left school early. Our uncle and grandmother had left India first, and our aunt and uncle-in-law left second. Day 1: Drive, Fly, Wait, Repeat

 Today was quite a long day! We went on two flights, drove for more than five hours, and had to go through lots of extra detours due to COVID-19. So, here’s how it started! We woke up early, around three o’clock in the morning, and finished packing all our bags. We were taking a total of four bags and four backpacks total, so we had a lot to carry! We loaded in all of our bags. Then, we tried to close the water supply to our house since our bathrooms have leaked once in the past during a vacation (the leak destroyed our wooden floor, and we had to replace it completely). Unfortunately, we weren’t able to close it, so we’re taking a risk on that part. We then drove around three hours to get to another city and then take a flight from Honolulu. We had already booked the parking spot, so we parked into the vast parking lot, took a picture of our car (so we knew where we parked), and took the shuttle into the airport.
